Matthew is responsible for the Bank’s overall financial management including developing and implementing the organization’s financial strategies, planning and evaluating the Bank’s fiscal function, internal and external financial reporting, and managing the Bank’s Credit Risk Department.

He obtained his undergraduate degree in economics and management from Albion College, Master of Science in Accounting degree from Marquette University, is a graduate of the Financial Managers School at the University of Wisconsin, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Previously, he worked for Baker Tilly Virchow Krause in Chicago, Illinois as a Tax Associate prior to working for Leaf, Dahl and Company as a Senior Accountant. He began working for First National Bank & Trust as a Credit Analyst in 2014 and was promoted to Controller in 2016.

He is involved with several non-profit community organizations including the Habitat for Humanity Menominee River and Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce while serving on the boards for Bay College Advisory Board for Accounting, Bishop Baraga Catholic School Education Foundation, the Chippewa Club, and is Treasurer of the Dickinson Area Community Foundation and Dickinson Chamber Ambassadors. He also serves on numerous scholarship committees, in addition to being active with many local sports organizations.
